Our Pastor

  MEET OUR PASTOR

Rev. Sean Cornell

A long-term Wisconsinite, Pastor Sean (they/them), who grew up in Brookfield, has earned two master's degrees: the first (MA-TS) from Asbury Theological Seminary just outside Lexington Kentucky, and the second (STM) from Nashotah House Theological Seminary near Delafield, Wisconsin. A pastor ordained through the American Baptist Churches, Pastor Sean has served in pastoral, community care, chaplaincy, and denominational ministries; most recently as the Office Administrator for the American Baptist Churches of Wisconsin.

Pastor Sean’s passions in ministry are worship (particularly celebrating the sacraments and preaching) and the development of the Christian life in both active service and in inner spiritual growth. In being called as the settled pastor of Immanuel UCC, Pastor Sean hopes to preserve and build on Immanuel's long history of rural and educational ministry and to continue utilizing them to build the Kingdom into the twentyfirst century.

After several years of being without a settled pastor, on January 12, 2025, the congregation elected to call Rev. Sean Cornell to be their Pastor, teacher and faith leader. Rev. Cornell began his time with Immanuel on February 1, 2025.

He will live in the parsonage on the church property after the house is available for his occupancy.  Rev. Cornell can be reached at (262) 853-9895 or email: rev.swc.wi@gmail.com.

We truly and sincerely welcome Rev. Cornell to Immanuel UCC.
